Siri with OpenTable in iOS 6: One man's search for dinner

We're glad Siri is still in beta. She can tweet now, but her restaurant reservations' prowess through OpenTable doesn't live up to the promise of the advertisements.

Siri's shortcomings in understanding the human voice are well-documented, but with the integration of OpenTable and Yelp into iOS 6, things are really getting serious, and your nourishment may hang in the balance. Once you have downloaded the iOS 6 update and OpenTable version 3.8, both of which became available September 19, you are ready to make dinner plans. Using my iPad in Springfield, N.J., I tell Siri "Indian restaurants," and she dutifully responds, "I found seven Indian restaurants. Five of them are fairly close to you." So far so good.
