Gulf countries started issuing travel warnings to Lebanon last year as violence trickled across the border, and Lebanese officials are aware that their most important tourist market won’t return until a sense of security is restored.

The tourism industry does not work alone. It simultaneously touches and is impacted by world events, technology, green energy, the economy, and, of course, people. It must consider and constantly adapt to these moving factors in order to move forward in a positive meaningful way.

Distracted flying is a new phenomena, and expect the use of electronic devices in flight cockpits -- allowed to pilots during level cruising phase -- to come under increasing scrutiny after this.

It appears that aircraft rescue and firefighting operations at the four airports were in a state of disarray, with personnel distracted with other duties and suffering from a lack of training.
