A lot of public companies are actively wondering how they will counter an onslaught if they become a target of the new administration in Washington. It's therefore a fairly gutsy act when companies ranging from Expedia to Celebrity Cruises stick their proverbial necks out.

It was no accident that Expedia aired a new advertisement just three times -- all during CNN's Inauguration Day TV coverage on January 20 -- about a young girl peeking over her neighbor's fence and in an act like travel, that is often geared toward puncturing prejudice.
