Joymode Raises $14 Million for Gear Rental: Travel Startup Funding This Week

Investors are finally backing companies that are tackling relatively remote corners of the travel market, such as Joymode's rentals of gear for camping, beach holidays, and road trips, and Busbud's sales of intercity bus tickets.
Each week we round up travel startups that have recently received or announced funding. The total publicized this week was more than $27 million.

Joymode previously raised about $2 million. While not exclusively focused on travel and while only delivering to residents of L.A. right now, the company hints at the last mile for hotels, vacation rental owners, car rental brands, and online travel companies to reach — providing rentable gear for travelers to use on their trips.
