From the opportunities of AI to the threat from Airbnb, Fogel opened the Skift Global Forum 2025 with a conversation that left few stones unturned.
Speaking Tuesday at the Skift Global Forum 2025, Glenn Fogel, Booking Holdings CEO and president said this was “without doubt one of the most exciting times to be in travel and technology.”
In a wide-ranging conversation with Skift executive editor, Dennis Schaal, Fogel shared his latest perspectives on everything from AI to Airbnb.
Despite debate around AI’s return on investment, Fogel said Booking is "seeing concrete benefits – real numbers – that show the benefits from some of these technologies."
"It’s different forms of technology that are helping us do the business better and provide a better return for our investors,” he said. However, Fogel also addressed the staggering capital expenditures fueling today’s AI boom and the uncertainty around how some investments will pay off.
Within this rapidly moving space, the Booking chief emphasized that the firm's AI efforts must serve both travelers and suppliers.
