Vrbo is testing a new way to give travelers peace of mind with a weather-guarantee option powered by WeatherPromise.
Vacation rental platform Vrbo has partnered with WeatherPromise to launch a program that automatically reimburses travelers if their vacation exceeds rain thresholds specified in their customized plan.
Pricing for the add-on is dynamic, ranging from 3% to 8% of the total trip cost, depending on the destination, travel dates, trip duration, and other factors.
Dan Price, WeatherPromise co-founder, told Skift, a guest might receive a payout if there are more than two days with two or more hours of rain during their stay. The exact definition appears on the checkout page before purchase and in the confirmation email.
