Skyscanner is going against the grain in now supporting a hotel-search app separate from its flight-search app. Consider this an opening shot for Skyscanner in hotels, and one that will help the company collect enough data about plotting its next move.
Skyscanner, which built its reputation as a flight-search tool, has launched a hotel-only app.
In classic metasearch style, Skyscanner Hotels, available as an iOS app, enables users to search for hotels and then to book them on sites such as Booking.com, Hotels.com, Venere, EasyToBook, Getaroom or the hotel's website. An Android version of the app will follow soon, officials said.
