Business Travel to the U.S. Is Strong Despite Cautious Sentiment

As U.S. government actions ripple across global commerce, corporate travel strategies are shifting. However, real-world data shows companies are still prioritizing the U.S., even as sentiment grows more cautious.

Business travel transaction data suggests that despite rising geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty growing out of U.S. policies, corporations continue to send business travelers to the United States.

“Transaction levels are returning to pre-pandemic heights,” said Rose Stratford, BCD’s executive vice president of Global Supplier Management, referring to U.S. business travel.

The willingness of corporations to dispatch their business travelers to the U.S. varies by industry.

“While consulting firms and the aerospace and defense sectors anticipate an increase in travel, several industries, such as pharmaceuticals and automotive, are more affected by the uncertainty of U.S. tariffs than others,” Stratford said.
