Spirit Airlines Prepares for Job Cuts as It Expects to Reduce Flights

Spirit CEO Dave Davis told staff the company could cut more jobs as a result of its plans to significantly reduce capacity this year.

Spirit Airlines is preparing to cut jobs as it plans to significantly reduce capacity during its second round of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. 

CEO Dave Davis told staff in a memo on Wednesday that the company is expecting to reduce capacity by as much as 25% when compared to 2024. 

“As planning begins, you will see a reduction of about 25% in capacity, year over year, as we optimize our network to focus on our strongest markets,” Davis said in the note, which was seen by Skift.
