Grab Expands Beyond Rides and Food with New ‘Partner Apps’ for Travel: Exclusive

By hosting travel services inside its app, Grab is positioning itself as a regional travel hub rather than just a ride-hailing platform.

Grab, the Singapore-based app best known for ride-hailing and food delivery, on Wednesday announced the launch of a new feature called "Partner Apps," allowing other companies to plug their services directly into the Grab platform.

Partner Apps will let users book and pay for a range of third-party services within Grab without having to download other apps or switch platforms.

Grab is starting with travel-related services, and five partner brands are joining at launch: Firsty (global eSIMs for travelers), HelloRide (bike-sharing), Jolibox (mini entertainment platform), redBus (intercity bus and ferry bookings), and DriveLah (peer-to-peer car-sharing in Singapore).

The feature is now live in Singapore and Malaysia and will expand to other markets in the coming months.
