Many companies are realizing that they cannot ignore the habits of their business travelers, but approval of the sharing economy is far from universal.

We'll be interested to see how riders, drivers, and competitors react to this move by Lyft.

The entry of ride hailing apps into the mainstream also presages a continued decline in both taxi rides and car rentals.

The substitution effect is real, and car rental companies for the first time are beginning to look like transitory businesses.
