Flight delays are the result of a such complicated and intertwined series of events that there won’t be an end-all solution, but perhaps a better way for airlines to predict the delays in order to cut their losses.

The survey shows that travelers are preparing to deal with the travel annoyances that await them by either adjusting their travel dates, booking hotels instead of sleeping on couches, or just filling their Instapaper queue before the flight.

While Gogo has a strong hold on inflight Wi-Fi among many U.S. airlines, there certainly appears to be plenty of competition.

There are multiple travel apps that attempt to integrate social media and destination content, but tourism boards are in a better position to leverage the tools given their established authority and influence -- and relatively deep pockets.

Foursquare's location guidance seems a lot more reliable than Apple Maps', and this Foursquare add-on improves the Uber iPhone app's customer experience.

It's doubtful that US Airways has been collaborating with American Airlines on the latter's suspected new livery, but then again everything takes time.
