Travelers demand experiences more than ever before, and Berlin-based online travel agency GetYourGuide is cashing in.
GetYourGuide CEO Johannes Reck says the online travel agency has become profitable for the first time amid a post-pandemic surge in interest for travel experiences.
Reck reported a record 10 million experiences booked in the third quarter, with the value of those bookings up 30% from 2024, and said the Berlin-based startup’s adjusted EBITDA have been positive with revenue approaching €1 billion ($1.2 billion) for the past year.
“Experiences are no longer an afterthought. They're the first thing people research when planning trips, whether they're scrolling TikTok, chatting with ChatGPT, or reading their favorite travel Substack (or all of the above),” Reck said in a Tuesday LinkedIn post. The figures were
