Qatar Airways announced Wednesday that it plans to sell off its 9.6% stake in Cathay Pacific, which is worth $897 million. 

Qatar purchased the stake in Cathay in 2017, becoming the third-largest shareholder in the Hong Kong-based airline. The carrier still has stakes in multiple airlines around the world, including a 5% stake in China Southern Airlines.
