The most digitally ambitious airline start-up in a generation is going on sale the old-fashioned way: through the OTAs.
Riyadh Air flights between the Saudi capital and London Heathrow are on sale to the general public, despite no formal announcement from the carrier that sales have opened.
Skift identified the flights on Trip.com and via Skyscanner, where results also pointed to OTAs such as Fly Sharp, BudgetAir, and Carlton Leisure. The flights are listed as RX401 and RX402, the same numbers used for the airline's invite-only operational readiness service.
To rule out a meta-search display error, Skift completed a booking on Trip.com all the way through payment for a May 5 departure. Confirmation was issued instantly.
