Expedia Pushes Meta, Uber, and Clear Partnerships to Own More of the Trip

Expedia isn't reinventing the OTA. It's stretching the definition — upstream into inspiration, downstream into day-of-travel — so booking becomes one stop in a longer relationship.
Expedia used its annual Explore conference Tuesday to feature its latest partnerships with Meta and Uber, new AI tools across its brands, and a Clear airport security perk — a set of moves designed to keep the company present before travelers search and after they book.
The most notable new collaboration is with Meta. The companies are testing AI-powered conversations that turn ads into trip planning opportunities, where travelers tap into an Expedia chat directly from their social media feed.
The OTA also announced a new Clear partnership that gives One Key members tier-based pricing and faster airport security through Clear+. And Uber — which already uses Expedia to power its hotel marketplace across 250,000 destin
