Kayak’s AI Mode goes from soft launch to debut, so customers can search for travel using natural language. Plus: The company dishes up data on holiday travel trends.
Kayak’s latest AI offering got an official debut on Wednesday, with AI Mode bringing natural language search to the mobile and desktop versions of the site.
First soft launched on the mobile site a few weeks ago, the feature resides on the homepage as one of the top navigation buttons, alongside Flights, Stays and Cars, as well as in the side menu. It’s powered by ChatGPT, which connects to Kayak data on the back end, so it can deliver contextual results from hundreds of travel providers.
The tool allows online customers to plan complete trips just by typing questions into the search box.
