Any travel brand can now submit apps and get listed in its new app store — which means Booking.com and Expedia, early movers in OpenAI’s app ecosystem, will soon get new competition to own ChatGPT’s travel conversations.
OpenAI is now letting outside developers build and list their own apps inside ChatGPT — the same in-chat space that Booking.com and Expedia joined as early partners — to any travel brand that clears review.
“Developers can use the Apps SDK — now in beta — to build chat-native experiences that bring context and action directly into ChatGPT,” the company said in a blog post announcement.
Approved apps will be listed in a new App Directory, available at chatgpt.com/apps. Similar to mobile app stores, except there’s no download required. Instead users connect once, and use the connection or app on any device. To find more,
