China’s H World Group Chases an Adventurous Traveler

The new Chinese traveler is more intrepid than ever. And H World wants to go on that journey with them.

H World Group has announced plans to almost double its properties by 2030, as “we want to have our brand everywhere, in every corner of China,” Jihong He, CSO of the Shanghai-based hospitality company told Skift.

H World Group currently operates over 12,000 properties across 19 countries, hitting the milestone of 1 million rooms last year. 

It is now planning to grow its footprint to over 20,000 properties across approximately 2,000 cities by 2030.​​ With "very strong" demand coming from tier three, tier four, and even lower-tier cities, He is confident that what she calls the “new Chinese traveler” will help boost H World Group’s growth.
