American Express Travel began selling vacation packages — initially sourced from Travelocity, now owned by Expedia — in 2004. They lost their luster as a momentous value-add to card members.

American Express Travel will stop selling flight and hotel packages as of July 31, according to a notice on its website. These bundled deals, which have long been powered by Expedia, will no longer be available — though card members will still be able to book flights and hotels separately.

American Express Travel began offering packages through Travelocity (now owned by Expedia) more than 20 years ago.
