Sonesta's getting cozy with long-term guests by launching Americas Best Value Studios, an extended-stay concept. It's the latest hotel group to discover that guests who stay weeks rather than nights deliver steadier occupancy and lower operating costs.

Sonesta International rolled out a new extended-stay hotel brand extension Monday, seeking to capitalize on demand for longer-term, budget-conscious lodging.

Sonesta, the eighth-largest hotel company in the U.S. by room count, said it will add Americas Best Value Studios by Sonesta as an offshoot of its Americas Best Value Inn franchise brand.
