The U.S. travel industry had a rough 2025, but it could get a big tourism boost from the World Cup — if it isn't too difficult for fans to visit.

Intrepid Travel Chief Marketing Officer Hazel McGuire said the tour operator has seen a sharp decline in travel to the U.S. from several key markets, but she does not expect the downturn to last, despite a challenging 2025 for U.S. tourism.

"I think that we will probably not see this last for a generation," McGuire said during the Skift Megatrends event in London Tuesday.
