Room00’s new expansion plan sees its asset selection process adapt to each market. The company is not chasing a fixed hostel-hotel mix, but matching each property to the format that fits best.
Room00, a hotel and youth hostel operator known for its compact properties, is preparing to invest €330 million to €420 million ($380 to $484 million) in 2026 as it expands deeper into Southern Europe and enters London for the first time.
The new investment plan, which represents a capital-intensive phase of growth, will add 20 properties and over 1,400 rooms in Spain, Portugal, Italy, and the UK.
It comes after Room00 secured €400 million ($461 million) last year, which CEO Ignacio Requena told Skift would help the company move beyond its asset-light roots and buy properties for the first time.
Kaho Ha, Room00’s CIO, told Skift that the expansion, which will see the company grow from 65 properties to around 100 by the end of 2027, will also broaden perceptions of the brand.&nb
