Waiving the visa bond is a relief for World Cup fans — assuming they can afford the ticket prices.

The Trump administration is waiving visa bond requirements of up to $15,000 for confirmed World Cup ticket holders from certain countries, the State Department told the Associated Press on Wednesday.

The waiver is available only for those who bought World Cup tickets and opted into the FIFA Priority Appointment Scheduling System (PASS) by April 15, the State Department said on its website.

U.S. officials said FIFA had requested the waiver, which required approval from the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security. Travelers from 50 countries, including five that have qualified for this year's World Cup — Algeria, Cape Verde, the Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Tunisia — are subjec
