Gorin thinks Expedia's consumer businesses are vital cogs in the machine. But can she jumpstart their growth?

Expedia Group CEO Ariane Gorin pushed back on the idea that the company favors the B2B side of its business over the consumer brands — Expedia.com, Hotels.com, and Vrbo.

During a one-on-one interview with Skift during Expedia's Explore conference in Las Vegas this week, Gorin said the two sides of its business feed one another, and that advertisers like to reach both audiences. B2B is the smaller of the two, but it's growing fast. Its revenue grew 25% in the first quarter versus 8% for the consumer business.

Gorin also commented on Expedia's AI strategy, the partnership with Uber, the recent change of CFOs, competition with Booking.com, and Expedia's vacation rental business.
