AI is now a non-negotiable in the travel industry. But how every company uses it is what is setting them apart.
Indian online travel companies are accelerating their AI strategies: MakeMyTrip and Ixigo each announced partnerships with OpenAI on Wednesday.
MakeMyTrip said it will use OpenAI’s APIs to introduce features that let users move from conversational inspiration to booking through its Myra chatbot.
“Our collaboration with OpenAI ensures that when travelers start their journey through conversation, MakeMyTrip becomes a seamless extension of that discovery process,” said Rajesh Magow, co-founder and group CEO at MakeMyTrip.
Ixigo is partnering with OpenAI to “advance artificial intelligence capabilities and deploy them at scale for the travel industry.”
It is looking to leverage AI to power autonomous workflows and explore new AI use cases, such as fully autonomous agents, AI-assisted workflows, and contextual AI assistants.
