Delta Adds LAX-Manila Route as the Battle for West Coast and Asia Heats Up

Delta is focusing international growth out of the West Coast, looking to become the dominant carrier out of LAX.

Delta Air Lines is launching nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, as it employs an ambitious growth strategy out of the California airport. 

The carrier will start operating the route on March 28, 2027, becoming the only U.S. carrier to offer nonstop service between Los Angeles and Manila. 

“Customers traveling through Los Angeles continue to benefit from Delta’s investments in LAX, including an expanding Asia-Pacific network and the opening of our second Delta One Lounge,” said Delta vice president of network planning Jeff Arinder in a statement.
